My setup runs without apps open and stays stable for a few hours. Windows shows I’m using only about 20 percent of system memory while running apps (max around 5-6 GB). I’ve looked at poolmon, searched for large processes in cmd, checked other tools, but found nothing unusual. I’m on Windows 11 with 16 GB installed. I’m not sure what to do—I’d really like to avoid reinstalling, especially if it doesn’t solve the issue.

It would help to view the process list by memory consumption or check the resource monitor. The data suggests the memory is probably acting as a cache, which is normal. RAM exists for active use, and unused space is simply wasted.

Based on the Windows version you're using, it could improve with ShutUp10 or stopping autostarting tasks.

I understand unused memory stays unused, but the apps I use, processes I run, and startup programs each add only a small amount. Task manager apps rarely exceed 6GB with about 50 open tabs, Firefox, Word, background OneNote, etc., all active. What do you think? It seems it also causes system freezes, which is quite an issue.

Download RAMMAP and verify your system standylist. If it isn't a memory leak, you may clear the standbylist using RAMMAP or utilize ISLC via Wagnard. 1. RAMMAP | https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysint...ads/rammap Spoiler 2. ISLC | https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1256 Spoiler
