game launchers are becoming overly complicated and less helpful. Over the past few years, I've typically purchased around one triple-A title each year, while most of my other games come from indie developers and a handful of early access titles that catch my interest. EA's launcher process was quite frustrating—installing it was a hassle, and after not playing a game for a month or more, they insisted I complete some verification steps just to prove my legitimacy and gain access to my phone. Eventually, I managed to fix the issue, but once an update occurred, my credentials were lost again, forcing me to start over. Now, if a game is from EA, I usually skip buying it or skipping reviews altogether.
