You're looking to tweak the top panel of your DE to mimic Unity's appearance. Have a panel that shows the currently open window, includes basic window controls, displays the global menu, hides the title bar when maximized, and thanks you for your help.

I don't prefer gnome and based on what I understand, it doesn't offer a global menu bar.

Fair point, I also dislike Gnome lel. It does allow a global menu bar, though that’s not its main strength. KDE is clearly better in most aspects. You can usually find a global menu as a widget inside a panel. The rest of the features should be available too.

Unity stood out as the sole desktop with a robust global menu system. The nearest alternative is Mate's "Mutiny" layout, though it isn't ideal because the app must accommodate it.

For a worldwide menu, you might have tried that one (to give Kubuntu a Mac-like feel) – https://store.kde.org/p/1274975/

I'm referring to a project on GitHub that sought to restore the global menu in GNOME. It has been stopped since GNOME no longer exports the menu bar.
