I understand it won't work on the secondary drive except the boot drive, but your main SSD is nearly full after the installation. Can you try placing AC Unity on the D drive instead? I think there might be a possibility...

You can transfer the whole game to the D drive and restart Uplay. Then there should be a choice to find the installed game and point it to the D drive.

Everyone understands this method, yet few actually have access to such games. It's a recognized issue where AC games and others fail unless installed on the boot drive. Wish I could hide my D drive as the boot drive.

It's time to switch to an SSD and then transition to an HDD. Check if this change is effective.

You can simply point it at your HDD for installation. Uplay will prompt you about the installation directory.
