I recently set up MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner to explore their functionality. After some time adjusting settings and creating a basic overlay, I included standard metrics like FPS, 1% and 0.1% lows. Initially, everything functioned as expected—FPS hovered between 130-140, with the low values around 125, 99-101. However, once I switched off recording, the numbers stabilized, showing a drop to about 85 for 1% and 40 for 0.1%. When I turned them back on, the changes were minimal. Eventually, toggling them off again brought the lows down to roughly 65 and 32. Despite these adjustments, performance remained consistent, though the low values continued to decrease each time I toggled. It appears there might be a configuration issue, but I’m not confident enough in RivaTuner to fix it myself. Here are some key system details: EVGA Z690 Dark Kingpin Intel I9-13900k, ASUS x Noxtua RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5 6400MHz, 2TB SK Hynix Platinum, Alienware 27 360Hz OLED, 1440p, running Windows 11.

Non-hardware notes: I altered several settings—HyperThreading, TVB, TB 3.0 were disabled in BIOS; Intel baseline limits applied; virtualization turned off; iGPU and virtualization disabled. These changes seem unusual but ultimately helped stability. Windows recognized my CPU as an 8-core processor with 32MB L2 cache. With all E-cores off, I maintained a steady 5.5Ghz across all cores, never dropping below 70°C even with a basic air cooler. I’ve kept this setup for a while without further modifications after installing RivaTuner.

Any suggestions?
