On my network I use a PowerEdge running PFense with gigabit internet. The connection speed is typically between 700-800 Mbps, but my PS4 often complains about the quality and gets cut off during streaming. I was frustrated enough to try a VPN for the traffic. It reduced my speed by roughly half as expected, yet kept me playing for hours—sometimes over 10 to 5 minutes. I still experience occasional issues, but performance recovers quickly. I’m puzzled why it works with a native type 3 VPN connection but not with my native type 2 setup. Any insights?
