Absolutely, it's precisely what you're going for—simple yet with a gentle, lively touch.

Windows 10 is a strong operating system in my view, but I don’t like its appearance. I’m not a fan of the square layout everywhere and the plain, muted colors. I’d love to customize it to resemble Windows Vista, which was my favorite for its style. That version looked really nice.

I believe the term you're seeking is grey. The latest operating systems feature this dull blend of grey. Even vehicles are adopting this trend. Take a look at the variety of colors available for cars these days—do you notice any vibrant shades anymore? No, it seems to be just color plus grey. I fully understand your point, but sadly since I need to use older systems at work, I don't have much flexibility.

I share your views on both Windows and Mac. I’m a bit let down that they removed the great “Dock Exposé” in OS X Snow Leopard and also took away coverflow from iTunes.

At first it seemed Vista had a strong visual appeal, even though it faced significant criticism. Many now believe Windows 7 addressed some of its shortcomings, while Windows 10 has become more uniform in design. I think it could benefit from a touch more realism. The gray tones definitely add depth; I wouldn’t want overly bright colors like those in sports cars, but a balanced mix would look better. I imagine improvements could come from collaboration with other developers or software that runs on specific platforms. Recently, Apple’s focus on features has shifted, cutting some established tools and focusing more on essential enhancements like memory management. Still, there’s value in what people actually need. I appreciate the sophistication of modern Macs, but for gaming and file handling, Windows still feels more intuitive.
