Unexpected power cuts in Xiaomi Notebook Pro devices
This problem has been bothering me for a while now. Since I started using Windows 2004, I've faced unexpected shutdowns during gaming or when the system is idle. Sometimes the computer just freezes and then shows a BSOD. The worst part is that nothing gets saved because the PC doesn’t restart automatically—after about 15 minutes I had to turn it off manually. I’m unsure what caused it since it doesn’t seem to be a Windows issue. Other operating systems work fine on different drives, even older versions of Windows. I suspect there might be a faulty internal drive, as it doesn’t appear in the UEFI or Windows Installer. My machine has the specs listed: XiaoMi Notebook Pro GTX i5-8520U, 8GB RAM, soldered memory, Samsung M.2 SSD, PNY CS2030 1TB, GTX 1050. The blue screen codes are WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR and UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION, often resulting in a black screen followed by a restart.
Hardware issues may appear, often due to a faulty drive. I recommend backing up as much information as possible to prevent loss if the drive fails. KEEP YOUR DATA SAFE! Consider replacing the drive and check with a new one. You can also run CrystalDiskInfo for more details.
