I purchased an R9 380 and installed several games including Team Fortress 2, CS GO, Minecraft, Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, and they all encountered the same issue – an "Out of memory error." Team Fortress 2 mentioned that lowering my settings helped, Minecraft didn’t start at all, CS GO behaved similarly to TF2, and Call of Duty reported the same error. The problem seems linked to insufficient hard disk space (14). My drive has 240 GB on D and 84 GB on C. Specifics: i5 2500, R9 380, 8 GB RAM, 240 GB HDD, 160 GB SSD, 550W PSU. Before buying the GPU, TF2, Minecraft, and CS GO worked fine but with low FPS, while CODMWR crashed due to my previous GPU being poor.

It seems like system RAM is being consumed excessively. Paging should handle this unless a process is consuming large amounts of memory. Some titles, like TF2, don’t use much RAM (they’re limited to around 2GB as a 32-bit executable). It’s also possible the games are attempting to use your internal GPU instead of the dedicated one, causing an error due to insufficient VRAM. Are you certain the GPU is being utilized and that the drivers are current?

When the issue arises, observe the RAM consumption in Task Manager. A screenshot of the Performance tab showing memory usage would be very useful. This suggests a potential memory leak.
