I am testing this gooseneck microphone named the JV-601PRO.
What sets you apart between using the physical knob and adjusting volume levels in the windows sound settings? I assume the knob alters the microphone gain, which determines its sensitivity to volume changes, while digital gain depends on the volume setting:

Although my laptop microphone also has a feature called microphone boost, which is supposed to increase digital gain, I’m not sure what each does.
By the way, anyone know why the microphone was set to 97 in the sound settings instead of 100?
Would going to 100 cause distortion, especially with sounds like plosives?
