I purchased this on eBay expecting a good deal (HP NC552SFP 10GB 2-Port PCI-E Ethernet Adapter High Profile Bracket - 614203-B21). After connecting it to my Asus Z170-A, the fans ran at full speed and the CPU light on the motherboard lit up, indicating no BIOS was running and the system was unresponsive. I attempted to remove other components and discovered that taking out DDR slots 3 and 4 might restore a BIOS screen, though it wouldn’t boot. I searched online and found a blog post that offered similar advice. I applied the same steps on my card, covering B5 and 6 and adding a Bang 10GbE network for £34 plus a DAC cable into my Switch. Let me know if this helps.
