Hello. I am really sorry if this is an already resolved problem. Here's the thing. I have a ryzen 5 1600 (with stock cooler) on an asus prime b450 motherboard with 16gb 3200MHz Corsair vengeance rgb ram currently working at 2133MHz with a GTX 1660. I tried increasing it to 3000MHz at 1.35v and it wasn't stable. Google Chrome kept crashing for some reason. Photoshop runs considerably slower. Then i checked the cpu clock and it was idling at 42°c at 1.55GHz . The voltage was around 0.792v- ish. I didn't touch the cpu settings. I reset everything ( load optimised defaults) and still the cpu is stuck at 1.55GHz. I really need help.

I tried it. I'm back at the starting point. Settings adjusted automatically. Not sure what to do next.

Lower frequency to 2933mhz or 2800mhz. Set the drive speed around 1.35-1.45v on the system. The older memory controller seems to cap at 2933mhz. Disconnect the battery from the BIOS, let it sit for a while, then power it back on. Check if this resolves the issue.

There is a 15.5x multiplier bug on these first generation chips/motherboards. On my old x370 on my 1600, it would bug out and knock at that anytime i used a cpu voltage offset of more than +.156v. If you have overclocked your cpu, and assisted voltage, check that. Also Google Ryzen 15.5x bug.

Verify your Windows power plan to ensure Maximum Processor State remains at 100% and doesn't drop to a lower percentage.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you've adjusted the power plan and managed to lower the clock speed, but the temperature remains high. Using Ryzen Master to set it to 3.2Ghz helped slightly, but the issue persists. After a restart, temperatures stay around 52°C. You might want to consider upgrading your cooling solution—either a budget air cooler or a more affordable all-in-one cooler could make a difference.
