I previously relied heavily on Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to reduce gaming temperatures by adjusting the Turbo boost power max to 15 W instead of 45 W, and it performed excellently!
But recently, whenever I change that setting, the program restores it back to 45 W after about 10 seconds.
This only affects the "Turbo boost power max" option; other settings, such as "Turbo boost Power Time Window," retain their changes without resetting.
I’m wondering if there’s a way to resolve this issue or an alternative method to lower CPU temperature without changing clock speeds.
Without underclocking or any other adjustments, my system’s package temperature would reach up to 98°C during gaming, but with Turbo boost downclocking it drops to around 80°C.
