You previously used an HP, Dell, Lenovo or similar motherboard. The H61m offers comparable performance without whitelisting issues. Your graphics card should work fine and be usable. The 32-bit Windows problem remains unaffected by the board choice. Accessing 32GB storage is possible now, as the H61m supports it. Upgrading to a newer model would have cost more, and replacing the 500W PSU might have been needed. Edited February 16, 2020 by Sir0Tek
If you're already running a 64 bit OS then you're fine. Though it sounds like you might lose a bit of RAM due to the board only supporting 16 GB.
Based on what OP mentioned, it seems like they had a point. If OP was wrong, then OP stands out as the better choice.
Custom bios may have whitelisting turned off, but I haven't located one yet. Considering it's not worth the effort, the better H61m-d2h should work just fine.
What are your feelings? Will you pass the old board on to someone else? I also have an unused i5 2400 processor.
I had a second CPU available, but I only gave it to my daughter if necessary.
