You're encountering issues during the Windows 10 2004 update process, specifically hitting 99% and 31% marks. It might help to check your system's performance, ensure you have the latest drivers, and verify that WSL2 is properly configured.

I faced a comparable problem where the system would crash and revert. I fixed it by changing the format with 2004... Fortunately, my operating system drives aren’t affected, making it simple for me to handle. Most cases aren’t similar. I’m not sure what other options might work.

When encountering issues with the Media Creation Tool, it usually relates to upgrading an upgrade drive or your computer itself. It’s best to avoid using 2004 for now. Each new Microsoft release brings significant challenges that still need fixing, making that year problematic. If you’re determined, try running Disk Cleanup with admin privileges and remove all Windows Update files.

I recommend waiting or installing it on another drive. The 2004 version remains quite unstable, and I experienced many problems until I returned to the 1909 release. It might be best to postpone for now.

I tried it a couple of weeks ago but don’t recall doing so. I’ll give it another go. Upgrading my PC
