The laptop stopped working after a crash, and now it won't start properly. When you try to boot it again, it says it can't find the boot media. You've already tried some fixes like removing the battery and holding power for a while. What do you think should be done next?

Use the recovery disk included with your laptop. The latest update might have failed, so reverting to an earlier version should resolve the issue. The most serious outcome could be a damaged operating system, requiring an external backup and a fresh installation.

your boot device might be damaged but it can be repaired...or the hard drive failed completely. I’d try launching a Linux installation media, preserving important files first, and then work through the issue.
