Hopefully someone can help me and find a solution. I have an ASUS X571GT laptop. When I purchased it, it comes with an Intel 660p nvme ssd. I bought a western digital SN550 1TB nvme ssd to replace it. After installing the ns550, I can't seem to boot, or access the BIOS (F2) or boot to a usb windows installer. I'm stuck at an ASUS logo and the only key that is working is the power button which shuts down the laptop. I have tried installing the latest bios version (306) as well as all the older bios version and try booting with the sn550, but still the same issue. My laptop supports pcie gen3x2 ssd, although the sn550 is gen3x4, it is backward compatible with gen3x2 as it says in its spec sheet. And its nvme standard and m.2 socket so there should be no problem right? I'm still waiting for asus support reply via email but im hoping someone has experiened or idea on how to resolve this. https://www.asus.com/ph/Laptops/ASUS-Laptop-X571GT/ https://laptopmedia.com/review/asus-vivo...e-retouch/

You're experiencing the same problem with your SSD and computer, and it seems like compatibility is likely the cause. Have you checked for any updates or drivers related to your new drive?

I'm also upgrading my laptop (VivoBook K571) and faced the same problem. I switched to a Crucial P3 M.2 1TB drive. I can't boot with the original disk copies and without them. I've tested two identical Crucial NVMe drives but nothing worked. For reference, the original drive that functions was a SK Hynix Hfb1m8m0331a from the factory. If anyone found a solution, please share it.
