Hi, Your Dirt 2 isn’t launching on Windows 10 21H1. You had it on Steam before. It might require the Games For Windows Live service, which is no longer available. Let me know if you need help finding a workaround or alternative versions.

This function works well in Windows 10. Games for Windows was an add-on, not essential for gameplay. Your problem might be different—possibly a bad download or Steam client issue. I recommend removing it and reinstalling, or re-downloading and reinstalling the game. Steam and older titles can behave unpredictably.

Attempted to reload the file again, but the outcome remained unchanged. Changed cache settings and tried compatibility mode, yet it still doesn’t work.

We're discussing a specific title, but the details are unclear. The conversation mentions past purchases, licensing issues, and different game versions. It seems to revolve around a game with a community patch and some confusion over its name and availability.

I have multiple "GWL" folders, which were installed in 2018. This likely explains why there are no problems starting games that need them.

I assume you're looking for the purchase source, since it's not listed on Steam.
