I have Kingston Hyper X Fury 2666MHz CL16 8GB sticks. I just added a second stick today. The BIOS lists 2666MHz, but CPU-Z and Task Manager show 1333MHz. I’m confused about the dual data rate—before the second stick I saw my RAM speed as its maximum in both tools. I’ve tried both A-XMP profiles to set it to 2666MHz myself.
In short: your memory operates at the correct frequency, with CPU-Z displaying 1333Mhz. A bit more detail: it runs at 1333Mhz per tick, handling two transfers each cycle—hence the DDR designation. Manufacturers label this speed in MT/s, which equals 2666MHz. CPU-Z interprets this accurately, showing 1333Mhz.
