The CPU temperatures are higher than usual, staying between 30 and 57 degrees on a 1.35V supply. (I understand the maximum is around 70°C for that chip). This PC isn’t mine—it belongs to my sister. She wants to play Apex Legends, which needs the SSE4 instruction set (similar to what most modern games require). I know the Phenom II X6 1100T is actually more powerful than the FX-6300, but she needs a newer CPU to run the latest titles.
The 6300 wasn't a great chip from the start. I disassembled it and tossed it away in a comp. I was just going to run it. If the temperatures are fine, it's likely not running at 1.55v. Even in the bios, it might just be completely off. This is mainly due to the core difference between Bulldozer and Vishera.
I lowered the CPU/NB voltage by two levels; it remains stable (now at two notches below 1.5V). Additionally, I noted the RAM voltage was set too high at 1.65V, so I could only reduce it slightly to around 1.6V.
1.65v is a common voltage for XMP profiles and won't cause any damage. It's fine to reduce it as long as the stability is maintained.
