Unable to reach numerous websites
Hey, I’m really struggling too. I woke up today and suddenly couldn’t reach most websites. I can still use Google, YouTube, Amazon, but not Twitch, Steam, or those forums. Even with LTE, I’m stuck on Discord and other services. My Fritz Box 7390 works fine, yet everything feels broken. It’s like there should be a connection for streaming videos, but it just won’t happen. I don’t know what’s going on or how to fix this.
Sounds like a DNS server between you and those sites has failed. Did you call your internet provider? They should be able to fix this within a few hours if that's the case. I would Google "is *your ISP* down" to see if it's a widespread issue.
Consider exploring Google for your DNS configuration: "Set up your network to rely on Google Public DNS. Switching to Google Public DNS replaces your current DNS provider with Google's service. Typically, your ISP assigns IP addresses through Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). To adopt Google Public DNS, adjust the DNS settings in your system or device to point to their IP ranges. The steps differ based on operating system and version (Windows, Mac, Linux) or the hardware you're using (computer, phone, router). We provide general guidance here; verify with your vendor's documentation for precise instructions."
I reached out already and the only reply was “theoretically you have internet, right? So I don’t know what to do”—it’s really disappointing.
There seem to be some DNS servers experiencing problems, along with connection difficulties that might not be connected.
Everything is functioning properly now—seems like their DNS servers were really down. Appreciate the update!
