Network configuration: Main router connects to switch1, switch2 links three mesh routers. Plugging the NAS on switch1 blocks Wi-Fi access, while connecting it to switch2 prevents Ethernet access. Switching between routers disrupts mesh communication. Solution options avoid bridging mode or relying solely on the main router's Wi-Fi.

It seems you're questioning whether "switch2" functions as a router rather than a switch.

I don't have access to your device configurations. Could you provide the model numbers of the switches and the mesh wireless solution you're using? Also, let me know which WiFi network you're trying to connect to when the NAS isn't responding on switch 1.

Yeah, sorry I didn't catch what you wrote. Your setup looks like this: main router connects to switch1, and the mesh router links to the main router via a gigabit port. Switch2 is plugged into the mesh router. Switch1 and switch2 are both Amazon TP-Link models.

Does the Deco system function as a router? If yes, you have two separate networks that can't communicate with each other. For seamless operation, keep only one device acting as a router. Then regardless of whether you're connected via a WiFi access point or a switch, all devices should be accessible.

The main router's Wi-Fi is off because it's less powerful than the mesh network.

It appears both devices are routers and they use different IP ranges. The router linked to your WAN access should connect to the router, while the one with Wi-Fi should allow traffic through. If you want better Wi-Fi performance, set the SSID on both devices to match and ensure the second switch is connected to your WAN access. This setup should improve connectivity.
