Unable to reach BIOS following overclocking on American Megatrends /w
I can no longer reach my BiOS to repair my PC after trying to overclock my Asus Sabertooth z97 Mark I.
🙁
Since I can't access the BiOS to undo the changes, my PC now has two problems:
The first is that whenever the PC restarts and attempts to power back on, it fails and restarts itself. It keeps trying to power up in a loop until I disconnect the power cable. Then, when I reconnect the cable, it boots up normally.
However, after booting, it leads me straight to the American Megatrends failed overclocking screen, and pressing F1 to Run SETUP takes me directly into Windows 10.
- Pressing F2 or DELETE during boot doesn't get me to the BiOS.
- Running the Asus boot-to-BIOS program doesn't open the BiOS.
- Plugging in a USB with any version of the BiOS and holding the E-Z Flash button down on the MOBO doesn't reset it.
- Adjusting the jumpers on the MOBO doesn't make a difference.
- Removing the small nickel battery and changing the jumpers didn't help.
It seems I've tried everything to reach the BiOS, but nothing is working. Any advice on how to get back in and fix these issues?
Hi,
I understand this might seem odd, but testing your keyboard on another port could help. It's unclear if this affects all Z97 boards or just my setup, but even without OC settings on my Gigabyte Z97 D3H, I couldn't access the BIOS unless I changed the port. Clearing the CMOS didn't resolve the issue.
