Hello, I made the hardware upgrade to resolve the TPM requirement. However, my plan didn’t cover the SATA SSD and NVMe SSD, and now updating to Windows 11 is failing because the system can’t install due to an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware. What should I do next?

Do you need all hardware components? Are you running on legacy or UEFI mode? You may need to change to UEFI boot. It's best to create a backup before proceeding. Then use the mbr2gpt tool.

9800x3d, RTX 5090, Gigabyte X870 Wi-Fi 7, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz, Deepcool AK620, Adata ADATA SX8200 2TB, Adata SU650. For the old or UEFI setup I can't tell precisely, but I have a reserved volume with 257MB so I'm assuming legacy. Checking with msinfo32.exe shows BIOS mode is UEFI.

I’m going to stick with my usual approach and recommend reinstalling this. There’s always a possibility something in place could fail (I’ve seen it with versions 8 through 11, and I haven’t done many in-place updates). That’s why you should back up your data anyway. Plus, during the process, it makes sense to start fresh and set up a clean installation.
