Unable to play Halo Infinite due to issues with the Microsoft account login. Assistance needed.
I relocated to Mexico for ten months to help with an aerospace initiative. After returning to the USA in April, I faced challenges with Sprint, the company that managed my phone number. They acquired T Mobile, and since I no longer needed a phone, I intended to replace it with a new device. I wasn’t aware text verification had become so problematic that it blocked access to my emails, as my passwords were insufficient. When I finally tried to log back into my Steam account, I encountered issues because email verification required an old phone number I no longer possessed. At a mobile store, I learned that Sprint’s acquisition by T Mobile made reactivation impossible. Consequently, I lost significant value in video games due to inaccessible accounts. I now use a new Steam account and miss playing Halo Infinite. After downloading the game, I was prompted to sign in with an email tied to my Microsoft account—something I can’t use anymore. I attempted the “sign in with a different Microsoft account” option, but it didn’t work. How can I update my email to my Microsoft profile? Until I resolve this, I’m unable to play Halo Infinite and have been forced to repurchase it, which also prevents gameplay.
Reach out to Steam support and inform them about the issue. They will likely request proof of account ownership. Comply and they should connect your previous Steam account with your current email address.
