I've owned a solid gaming rig for a couple of years and never faced problems with Overwatch at ultra. Recently, after adding Fortnite, running the game even on low settings caused my PC to overheat significantly. I tested Overwatch again today and noticed it was happening too. I haven't updated my system in a while, yet this issue appeared regardless. My hardware includes an FX-8350 with 16GB DDR3, a Crucial Ballistix GTX 780 (likely the original), and stock RAM.

Remove debris from your machine; buildup might hinder fan performance, leading the processor to slow down.

I’ve restored vintage PCs and achieved a minimum 50% improvement in performance across nearly all tasks.

I worked on Overwatch today and thought I’d succeeded, but I’m not sure it worked in Fortnite yet. To be clear, cleaning the dust from my fans might still matter even with a liquid-cooled processor, because it could affect overall performance.

Well, fans cool the liquid and that liquid cools your processor. Clean out your RAD fans if you haven't already.
