I have two Windows 7 Pro machines that can open applications from any file on a mapped drive. This summer I switched to Windows 10 Pro and realized I can no longer access Autocad DWG files from a mapped drive—it only worked for Autocad DWG files. When I double-click a DWG, it launches the correct version of Autocad (regardless of its release year, such as 2002, 2016 or 2018 Civil). Also, saving to the Z drive doesn’t show the drive letter, so I’m limited to saving in the network folder. I suspect a permissions problem, though it might not be entirely accurate. For now, I use the network folder to open DWG files. I hope this issue gets fixed soon. Thanks! My NAS is the Qnap TS-451+.
