Hey everyone. I just received the Command & Conquer 17 pack. After setting up the graphics, the game would freeze and crash. I checked compatibility options and ran it as administrator, but it still didn’t work well. Can anyone suggest a way to enable high settings so it runs smoothly?
I recently got C&C 4 and faced the same issue. After testing various solutions, I found a fix that works. Now the game runs smoothly at 3840 x 2160 (4k). This also resolves the problem of losing progress when minimizing the game. By setting the Windows resolution to match the game’s, it restores correctly. You can adjust other graphics settings through this file. To change the resolution, open options.ini in Notepad and modify the resolution line (default is 800x600). Update it to your desired 4k value. Save the changes and exit. After launching, you should be able to tweak other visual settings without trouble. If needed, edit options.ini again and set High for all relevant parameters. Adjust AntiAliasingLOD to 8x if your card supports it. Don’t forget to save before closing Notepad, then enjoy the game.
