Unable to modify MAC address in Windows 10 for Wi-Fi connection.
I’m attempting to modify the MAC address of my Wi-Fi adapter to match that of my Apple TV. This is needed because the hotspot requires authentication before granting internet access, and browsers can’t handle this. I’ve tried adjusting settings on the laptop, using registry tools, and even changing the adapter, but the error persists—it keeps demanding a starting code of “02.” I’m also considering using a Linux live environment to try the change, though that’s uncertain for my current setup.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to locate a genuine fix for Windows. I ended up using a Linux OS inside a VM, linking the USB WiFi adapter and adjusting the MAC address smoothly with ifconfig. It’s odd that Windows 10 wouldn’t let this change through. Now my Apple TV is connected to the internet at the hotel.
