Hello everyone! I'm working on updating my BIOS but haven't been able to succeed. I downloaded the newest version from Asus, formatted a USB drive, and copied the file in. After selecting it and loading, my PC restarted before the process finished, but it wouldn’t boot properly—CPU lights stayed red. After waiting 15 minutes, I pressed the reset button and it worked fine, though the old BIOS remained active. Could anyone help figure out what’s going on? My system specs are: TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI AMD 7700X, 32GB G.Skill RAM at 6000MHz.

It rebooted in Arizona. After reviewing the bios file, or you can proceed with installing the BIOS always using the default optimized settings for BIOS updates. I also discovered that ASUS BIOS might read disk drives, which could mean USB isn't required (I haven't tested it).

Immediately after selecting the read bios option, the processing bar showed up and the system restarted before the bar finished loading. I followed the default optimized settings, but after rebooting the PC post-update, my BIOS remained unchanged from its previous configuration. Whether you need to save and exit before updating depends on your specific setup—check your device documentation for exact steps.

The BIOS needs renaming before flashing with the provided app.

I didn't change the bios, but the installation went smoothly. Lucky's setup didn't fail, though it damaged my motherboard with unstable connections. All defaults and saves worked fine. Flashing new bios can be risky—only do it when necessary.

Yes, I also changed the bios file. That’s correct! After waiting 15 minutes with no progress, I pressed the reset button out of hope. When it started up, I was relieved. The latest bios update isn’t a beta—it addresses voltage problems, which is why I wanted to install it. Also, my PC usually takes a bit longer to power on after turning it on; it starts immediately but needs around 10 seconds for the motherboard lights (CPU, RAM, VGA) to cycle before sending signals to the monitor. Is that typical?

Ten seconds is seen as quick and typical. For upcoming updates, avoid the USB flash drive approach. This method applies only when your board lacks a display. Update the BIOS by opening it and selecting the EZ flash option. Here you can perform the update just like in Windows, with a GUI and progress bar to monitor the process.

I applied the Ez flash settings through the BIOS. I adhered to the manufacturer’s guidelines, copied the update file onto a properly formatted USB drive, and then used Ez flash to install it.

They likely told users to connect via USB for quicker access, while the tool itself can view all storage devices—just navigate to the BIOS section and make changes there.
