Unable to modify Apple MacBook Pro.
I'm not certain, but I'll check this in the afternoon if you're interested.
Check the Apple icon in the top menu, select “about this mac,” then choose “software update.” If an update is available, it will direct you to the Mac App Store for download and installation. I faced some delays updating my 2014 MacBook Air to MacOS High Sierra, which took about a month due to an unexpected issue.
The device in the photo appears to be from before 2012, likely a pre-retina model. Its MagSafe 1 design and thicker build help confirm this. I suggest checking the "About This Mac" section in the Apple menu to determine compatible macOS versions. You should be able to run macOS 10.13.1 without issues if it's a 2014 model or newer. For 2012 or older systems, 10.13 should work fine. If you share details about your current setup, it would be easier to advise further. As mentioned, the updates are fine, but the hardware is soldered and not user-accessible. That’s why I upgraded to a 2012 non-retina MacBook Pro, the last one that could be serviced.
