Hello, so last night i tried to overclock nvidia geforce 940mx using MSI afterburner on my lenovo laptop that i currently use while i wait for all parts for my desktop to arrive and i slowly turned up clock speed and got some nice framerate increase in some games, a little bit later i was really bored and wanted to see how it would handle if i increased clock speed to max that msi afterburner allowed,i was pretty sure that i wont fry gpu since i wasnt increasing voltage and i knew that it would probably just bsod and restart. Once i increased clock to max game just froze and i managed to alt tab to msi afterburner but it was not responding so i opened task manager and process called system interrupts was eating 99% of CPU and after about 30 seconds windows 10 crashed and showed BSOD. Now, i had experience crashing few of my older laptops by overclocking gpu and if it bsods it just restarts and boots up normaly without overclock, but this time was different. Once laptop restarted i got to windows login screen but whenever i type in my password on any of my accounts i following error message: "The User Profile Service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded." I tried in safe mode and i can enter all accounts in safe mode but in normal mode i cannot access any of my accounts I am 99% sure gpu is fine and not damaged cause windows actually boots without issue its just that no user account can be loaded Is there any solution to this that does not involve windows reinstall, i really need it working in about 1 or 2 days but i dont have spare HDD to backup my data and ordering new hdd it would take like a week to arrive so reinstall is not an option right now I also dont have any backup image or restore point Thanks in advance

you could install windows over the old one, but you'll have to re-install your programs, and you could potentially lose data

Do you have a local account set up? Occasionally I faced trouble loading my profile due to network issues. If it’s not a local account, try connecting via Ethernet and retry.

Local account available as well. It’s connected via Ethernet cable and sometimes Wi-Fi, especially after the BSOD linked to GPU overclock. I think Windows might have corrupted itself, but I’m hoping there’s a manual fix. Also, it functions smoothly in Safe Mode.

Sure, I attempted to revert to a previous iteration.

Perhaps the user profile got corrupted? You can try this tutorial out: https://www.eightforums.com/threads/user...s-8.38838/

Have you verified whether your keyboard area has been reset? It could be causing problems if the password includes special symbols such as #, ", @ or £. If not, try UBCD—it offers a tool named Offline NT password & registry editor. I haven’t used it since at least Windows 7, so I’m unsure if it still functions for 10, but I think it should. Remember to keep UBCD handy, it’s really helpful.

Thank you, I'll attempt this now and inform you once I see if it resolves the issue. All five of your accounts are showing the same error, so please let me know if this helps.
