For a brand new drive, you need to format it. Use the search bar to create and format a hard disk, then apply formatting to the new SSD volume.

I attempted that but it didn’t display, even after refreshing the disks. Checking the BIOS didn’t reveal any entries for the 970 slot—possibly the SSD was installed incorrectly?
