You can use the Windows 7 driver for 3.0, but it might not work with Windows 10 drivers installed on your system. It’s fine to try the older driver if needed.

Windows likely includes USB 3.0 drivers by default starting with Windows 8, eliminating the need for a separate driver. When you connect the device, it should automatically detect and register it.

It functions, but I thought you needed the drivers to get the most benefit from version 3.0? Installing them would likely improve performance to around 2.0 speeds otherwise.

They don't require any additional components; both models come with complete USB 3 functionality built into the operating system.

Others suggested installing USB 3.0 drivers automatically. The Windows 7 versions should probably function as well, although you might need them if necessary. Generally, most Windows 7 or 8 drivers work nicely with Windows 10 because the driver system hasn't changed much.
