I typically press command + shift + 3 to take a screenshot. Those images are usually stored on the desktop. Now, when I try to screenshot, I can't locate the PNG files I saved. What happened?

Have you attempted using CMD + Shift + 4 to pick a portion of the screen and confirmed the changes were applied properly?
