Hello, I recently purchased an Epomaker EK21 (non X) to reprogram certain keys and add macros. Although the keyboard functions properly, Via keeps refusing to recognize it. I attempted several fixes: resetting with FN+0, using various JSON files (V2, V3, USB, 2.4G, V2 enabled/disabled), testing wired and 2.4G connections, updating firmware via questionable software, and even unplugging all USB devices except the EK21 and mouse. I set it to update mode by holding FN while plugging it in. Still, it doesn’t work on VIA. It seems like it might be a bricked device or at least unresponsive. Would you consider returning it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What operating system are you using?
I've tried various JSON files; V2, V3, USB, 2.4G, and the V2 definition both enabled and disabled didn't work.
I think these guides were meant to help you fix your peripheral;
Check the links:

If you're having trouble getting it to work on VIA, it might be a bricked device—consider returning it.
To check if the Epomaker EK21 is affected, try connecting it to another working system. If it appears there and VIA recognizes it, the issue is likely with your setup.
I also looked at:
https://caniusevia.com/docs/supported_keyboards
but it doesn't list the keyboard in their support list, which explains why you need to use the workarounds shown in the video.

I've tried everything the videos showed and it didn't work, even the guy said he had trouble getting this keyboard to work with VIA, but I have managed to fix it after more digging. Apparently there's a different JSON file that I had to download that was more inconspicuous than the others, and now I can program my EK21 through VIA normally. Either way, thanks for the help.

Glad to hear you got that sorted.

Might want to include the links to the JSON files to aid the person in the same boat as you're in now.

Hello, I understand you're encountering the same issue and would like to know which hidden file was involved.
