I recently attempted to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 2200G to a Ryzen 3600. The motherboard is an Asus Prime-A320M-K running BIOS version 5603, which should accommodate the new processor. When powering on the PC with all fans—including the GPU fans (GTX 1650)—spinning and illuminating but failing to boot, the system refuses to start. This issue occurred after a previous successful run and before the upgrade, where the CPU also worked fine for a few days. I've tried several steps: removing the CMOS battery, installing a new RAM module, verifying power cables on both motherboard and CPU, booting solely via power and monitor plugged in to rule out external interference, taking off the cooler and reinserting the CPU while inspecting for visible damage to the socket or pins. I believe I've checked all standard solutions and am seeking advice from others who may have faced similar problems with this board. Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Have you made sure the bios are current? Compatibility matters, but proper bios are essential for functionality.

The display port connects to the back of the GPU. The mouse and keyboard aren’t getting power either—their RGB isn’t activating, suggesting the issue isn’t a display fault but rather a lack of power from the USB ports.

It's a somewhat older iteration but still comes with updates beyond what the support page lists for when the CPU was first added to the board. Reversing the installation and attempting an upgrade to a newer model might be worth considering, even if it isn't strictly required. It's possible ASUS has incorrect documentation or the prior update had issues.

Current BIOS version for that MOBO is 6042. Updating the link provided should help.

Idea unclear, but it's usually wise to refresh the BIOS with a newer CPU. These updates often add extra features.

I installed the update through the internet function, which upgraded it to version 5603. It looks like this was a manual update requiring a USB connection, as no newer updates were detected.

I've faced the same problem with my Gigabyte boards...using their live update from a server hasn't worked for me. It might have been an issue with the process, but when I manually downloaded and installed it on a Fat32 USB drive, it functioned correctly.
