Unable to find a second M.2 slot to display in BIOS

I've been dealing with an ROG X570-f gaming board for a while now, trying to understand why the M.2 in the second slot isn't showing up in the BIOS. After reseating it and thoroughly checking every part of the system, I decided to upgrade with a PCI-e adapter and installed the M.2 into that slot. Still, it doesn’t appear in the BIOS. It’s brand new, and I’ve had it in the second slot since purchase. Many users report similar problems across different chipsets and manufacturers when trying to get a BIOS to recognize a second drive in the M.2_2 slot. Since I managed to get it working with a PCIe card adapter, I’m wondering if there’s another reason preventing it from being detected.

You're facing challenges because the device isn't displaying in BIOS, and you're unsure how to access the M.2_1 slot without fully disassembling it. It seems likely it functions properly since it's a new EVO Pro model.

It seems there might be an issue with my setup. There could be a configuration that turns off SATA ports and NVME slots, so you might want to verify that. If everything is in place, proceed accordingly.

I questioned this topic but wasn’t familiar with their bios. I couldn’t locate it in the advanced settings and didn’t find any mention of PCI-E lanes or similar details in the manual.

I've refreshed my profile details and reviewed all possible PCIe options mentioned in the BIOS, but the system still can't detect the M.2 device. Right now, around hour 8 of this attempt, finding a reasonably priced motherboard that supports a premium M.2 slot remains quite challenging.

Changed the storage devices to check for detection in M.2_1 and M.2_2. It might indicate a bad port.

It's currently using a PCIe adapter but isn't being recognized. I'm avoiding the need to remove my boot drive just in case, as that would require taking out the heatsink.
