Hey there! Just updated the BIOS of my MSI B450M MORTAR (Ryzen 7 1700) and noticed the look changed a bit. The issue is that using the "xmp" profile to optimize RAM speed makes the fans spin too fast, and there’s no easy "default" setting like before. I’ve tried downgrading to an older BIOS version, but it doesn’t work—I have multiple BIOS files on my USB drive, yet when I flash it, the system says no BIOS found. Anyone help?

It’s likely your previous BIOS didn’t support flashing anymore. This change affected all B450 boards after the latest AMD update, except MSI B450 "Pro" models. The update required more than 16MB of memory, so they eliminated features like additional flashing to fit within the limit. MSI B450 Pro retains a 32MB ROM and stayed intact. Keep only one BIOS installed on the drive for best performance.
It may not allow you to lower the BIOS settings, but the flashback function will definitely overwrite the firmware as if you entered any new code
This feature is mainly for buyers of Zen2 + B450 systems since it lets you update the BIOS without needing a CPU socket. It can also resolve issues with a motherboard stuck due to corrupted BIOS. Change the BIOS file name to msi.rom, format the flash drive using FAT32, power off the PC, connect the drive to the rear I/O port next to the button, and press it. Always keep a working BIOS as a backup in case the new one fails to boot.
