CPU model is Ryzen 7 2700X, motherboard brand ASRock AB350, GPU PNY GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM, power supply PowerSpec 500W (micro center), SSD Inland TN450 500GB PCIe Gen 4. System functioned generally but CrystalDiskMark flagged the boot drive as faulty. I visited Micro Center to replace it, which offered a good price and they didn’t carry Gen 3 NVMe drives. I chose the new SSD assuming it would work at Gen 3 speeds. My motherboard supports two M.2 slots—one labeled "Ultra M.2" for Gen 3 speeds and another unmarked for SATA 3. Inserting the SSD into the Ultra M.2 slot caused it to display ASRock in the center with keyboard shortcuts in the lower right corner, but nothing happened when I pressed keys or left it idle. Removing the drive restored functionality, allowing the shortcuts to appear and enabling normal operation after a few seconds.

I thought I could access the BIOS using the SATA M.2 port, yet the device isn't visible during boot.
