I've been attempting to play GTA V online, but it's not working. When I launch online mode, I often land on an empty server, occasionally with just one other player, rarely more. Joining a friends or crew session takes a short while and then I'm sent back to the previous game. I can't see friends online in the social club. I've tried turning off my firewall, disabling antivirus, and forwarding ports that work for other games, but I haven't had similar issues elsewhere. Others have mentioned problems with online mode, but nothing has helped me so far. Any advice?

Join the fun of playing a Rockstar title. I've faced problems with the 360 edition before. It doesn't always run perfectly.

I can't ask friends or locate random players through the auto-invite feature for missions, races, or other activities.

I can use a VPN to play, though the lag remains terrible. I’ll probably keep checking options.
