Hello everyone, I recently upgraded my system to an M.2 drive and needed a fresh install of Windows. I didn’t want to duplicate the setup. My WoL stopped working suddenly, even though I was using the same version on my previous Windows installation (which I’m keeping for other reasons). I went through every guide I could find: Asus’ instructions (for the Prime Z590-A board), FritzBox’s guide (though my 7590 has fast boot disabled), BIOS tweaks (it was already enabled), driver updates (they were all current), and I even checked the MAC address. Nothing worked. After reviewing my network settings, I noticed the adapter’s MAC changed unexpectedly. I replaced the processor and motherboard about a year and a half ago. It seems the system just realized the hardware was different—probably because the MAC address changed, and it started treating the new board as the one it thought it was. All WoL apps now treat the adapter as unknown, which is problematic since I rely on it for accessibility. Any suggestions or clues would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
