Hi everyone,
I have an ASRock b350m hdv a ryzen 3 1200 overclocked to 4000mhz and a stick of trident z RGB 8gb 3000mhz. I attempted to adjust the RAM speeds manually using tutorials, setting them to 2933 MHz because the factory default is 2133 MHz. After saving the changes and restarting three times, entering BIOS restored the speed back to 2133 MHz. When I used XMP settings yesterday, it worked initially but reset the PC again and the speed dropped back to 2133 MHz. I’m unsure what to do next. Thanks in advance.

I'm not very familiar with OC, but have you made any changes to the BIOS? I've had the same problems before, and after updating the BIOS to the newest version, I can reach 3200 MHz without any issues.

Thank you for your response. When I arrive home, I plan to update the BIOS and observe the results.

I believe this is the standard for that board (and likely all AM4 boards?). Checking the support page confirms that all 3000 MHz RAM operates at 2933 MHz.

https://www.amd.com/system/files/2017-06...t-en_0.pdf
Edit: I realized I read your post too quickly and missed the fact that 2933 MHz wasn't stable. Please update your BIOS as recommended.

But I can't get there at that pace, only up to 2800 unestable.
