Unable to connect to 2133 MHz DDR3 on Sapphire motherboard.
Anyone here know about Sapphire Pure BlackP 67 Hydra MOBO?
I'm experiencing memory clocking issues. I have an i5 3570K and a GSkill Ripjaws Z (f3-2133c11d-16gzl) with a 16 GB kit (2x8).
The system starts with a default memory clock of 1333 MHz.
I selected the standard XMP profile (2133 MHz with default timings), but it won't load. I reset twice and encountered a "Watchdog Timeout" error.
I increased the VDIMM voltage to 1.65 and tried various timings. The highest stable clock speed I achieved was 2000 MHz—anything higher doesn’t work.
The MOBO has the latest BIOS, and according to Sapphire tech support, it should support up to 2133 MHz RAM. They mentioned the recommended clock for LGA 1155 is between 1333–1600 MHz, with anything above being unpredictable based on CPU, RAM, and MOBO combination.
Could anyone clarify what’s going on here?
Thanks in advance!
Do you have the most recent BIOS for the motherboard? Can you share images of the BIOS settings, particularly regarding memory timings? What is the manufacturing date of that memory kit? Were you successful in getting DDR3-2000 to function stably?
