Unable to connect Corsair ICU software with ASUS Armory Crate
Hello, I'm facing difficulties aligning Armory Crate with Aura Sync using Corsair Icon software. Despite following all online tutorials, it hasn't worked. I've even tried using regedit to make Armory Crate dependent on Corsair Icon, but the sync still fails. Everything else seems fine—my Corsair gear operates independently, and the motherboard and GPU RGBs are functioning normally. Currently, I manually set both programs in manual RGB mode (wave, static, color spectrum, etc.), yet they don't coordinate from Icon. When I switch RGB mode in Icon, it also affects the GPU and motherboard. My system specs: Intel Core i5 13600K, Corsair iCUE H100i Elite Capellix RAM (32GB DDR5), Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB (2x16GB), ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E motherboard, GPU INNO3D RTX 4080, 2TB Kingston NV2 NVMe, Samsung 990 PRO 2TB, and Windows 11 PRO. Power supply is a 1000W Corsair RM1000e. I've read this issue is common, but no solution seems to fit my setup. At this point, I'm considering giving up and using a Hue Bridge to unify all RGB devices.
I decided to skip another program, though it feels like the next logical move. It’s frustrating having the whole system in one color and the GPU placed elsewhere on the palette, right?
I struggled a lot. The closest options were free tools like OpenRGB, but they still contained issues. Eventually I stopped trying and made colors separate instead of linked, which works well together.
Since RGB became standard on PCs, different brands have developed their own versions... Each company has its own approach. There are many RGB programs that clash or compete with one another. The only reliable method I've discovered is using parts that meet certifications, like Corsair iCUE, or ensuring all your hardware uses the usual 4-pin RGB and 3-pin ARGB header on the motherboard. No custom solutions.
I managed to run everything except the keyboard light pattern using openRGB. It works great.
