I attempted to exit the game, but pressing exit leaves nothing visible on the screen. When I use ESC, it closes me with the game minimized and lands me on the desktop. I opened Task Manager to end the process, but it continues running. What’s going on?

Checked resource monitor to locate the correct EXE, but Windows lists it as game.exe which isn't visible in the standard task manager.
