Hello, I'm dealing with an Asus GX701 that has an RTX 2070. The screen brightness isn't responding to the OS slider or keyboard shortcut. When I try to adjust it manually, nothing changes. I've discovered that disabling the generic PNP monitor driver helps temporarily—moving the brightness slider doesn't affect the actual brightness, then re-enabling the driver restores normal behavior. After that, changing brightness requires doing the same steps again. It seems this might be connected to other issues, like problems with YouTube videos not displaying properly until I reinstall Nvidia drivers. Windows 10 and the latest Nvidia drivers are all up to date. Thanks for your help!

I operate this machine in "Discrete Graphics" setting, which turns off built-in graphics. The sole display card listed in Device Manager is the RTX 2070.

This tricks the Intel IGP into believing it has completed work, ready for output through the embedded DisplayPort video connector connected to your laptop panel. Your laptop's GPU lacks a direct video output. To manage which card handles what, navigate to: Settings > Display > Graphics Settings (link at the bottom).
