Unable to access the BIOS of the Lenovo Legion Y720-15IKB keyboard and mouse.
Review these images and the accompanying video for clarification. Essentially, the laptop keyboard isn’t functioning properly but lights up when it powers on. It also fails to access the BIOS/UEFI, consistently falling back to the boot manager. The specific model is a Lenovo Legion Y720-15IKB. Any thoughts on whether to replace the keyboard? The fact that the keyboard lights up suggests some activity, possibly indicating a partial issue. The inability to enter BIOS is a recurring problem.
The BIOS startup seems to function properly. The BIOS editor might be experiencing issues. Issues with the keyboard could also be involved. It's unclear if these are connected, but it's possible. Both components are low-level drivers.
Hello, do you have a possible answer? I'm facing the same issue.
Same issue continues here. All efforts seem to have failed. For the visual effects, you can find instructions on YouTube about setting up Lenovo's nerve center for lighting control. Regarding the other concern, I switched to Windows PRO to work with virtualization tools. But soon after, the problem reappeared. Did anyone else take similar steps or notice anything unusual before it happened? We also experienced a severe storm prior, so that could be the cause. Also, disconnecting the external keyboard and connecting an internal one didn’t resolve the issue. Still, the boot manager works. I’ve stripped down to essentials, reset the CMOS battery, and even tried resetting the CMOS at random times. That triggered a BIOS glitch that let me disable quick boot and access the BIOS multiple times. However, the keyboard remained unresponsive. Once it worked again, I reconnected the battery and CMOS. I wouldn’t advise others to try this, but I did. Someone mentioned it might not be the BIOS, though I’m not sure. The keyboard is fixed to the palmrest, so unless the internal one was faulty, swapping should help.
