I understand it would require licensing, which is the main reason we haven’t done this before. For those with poor internet, purchasing games on Blu-rays would be much easier now. I no longer have bad internet issues and still receive disk versions if Amazon offers the best price. The only deterrent is that Steam works across different operating systems, so switching to Linux later wouldn’t lose my collection as more titles become available.

It's not that I dislike technology, but I find it strange how much people rely on DVDs these days. I really value my DVD player.

They might be two Blu-ray drives, assuming enough people owned one. But even with 15 discs, it’s not a big deal. If you can’t get digital due to poor internet, waiting a few hours for installation is far less than the time needed to download it—especially if they were Blu-rays. Just enjoy a movie or read a book while it installs and insert the next disc when the computer finishes the previous one.
