Hey everyone, remember he’s testing the same hardware with Windows drivers and achieving solid speeds. That suggests the results on Linux should be comparable too. If he’s seeing around 85mbps on Windows but only a similar rate on Linux, it likely points to a driver problem or an unintentional change in his network setup.

I have very little knowledge of Linux, but the other communities I checked suggested doing this.

Standard update command provides a refreshed package list tailored to your current setup and initiates the download upgrade sequence. This approach works best with APT rather than YUM or any graphical interface, especially when using VMs. I’m familiar only with these fundamentals from years of managing VMs. Windows 10’s occasional issues are making me consider other options beyond PC gaming.

I attempted to perform a kernel update via the provided link, but it prompted an error about being unable to change directory to the cache location. The process continued with updates for GRUB, the Linux image, and other components, though it ended with installation failure and a note that the terminal output is saved as text.txt.

Execute grub-mkconfig >/dev/null as root and note the output. It seems safe to proceed.
